ABOUT JOEY —

Joey Houssian is the founder and owner of Superfly Ziplines Ltd., a company he started in 2013. Headquartered in picturesque Whistler, British Columbia, Superfly Ziplines was established with a mission to create the most spectacular zipline experience in the world.

Born and raised in beautiful British Columbia, Joey Houssian grew up with a thirst for outdoor activity and adventure. As a young man, his love of the outdoors and natural curiosity inspired him to travel the globe, where he deepened his exposure to adventure tourism and the most popular and progressive activities that were out there.

From Hawaii to Indonesia, from Haida Gwaii to East Africa, Joey started to collect ideas and best practices and ultimately created a game plan for what would become Superfly Ziplines. Houssian describes the experience, “as one of the most complete and immersive ways to experience the landscape and environment in which we operate.” Houssian adds that the tour “involves driving, walking and flying through some of the most pristine and natural forest that British Columbia has to offer and that most of the tour takes you places you could otherwise not go by yourself.”

With a high attention to detail and immaculate design, Joey Houssian built Superfly to an extremely high standard. Superfly’s design features massive post and beam structures inspired by British Columbian architecture and some of the longest zip lines in the world, at over a kilometre in length and 600 feet in the air.

"With a reputation for being the number one attraction in Whistler, it’s best experienced in person and with friends", says Houssian with a smile. His excitement and energy around the company is palpable and infectious.

Joey’s admiration and respect for nature also inspired his post-secondary education at the University of Victoria on Vancouver Island. Joey graduated from the University of Victoria with a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies. He then moved to Whistler to pursue a career in adventure tourism.

In addition to Superfly Ziplines, Joey owns and operates several iconic adventure tourism companies that specialize in a variety of special excursions, including: treetop adventures, river rafting, RZR tours, snowmobile tours and snowshoeing.

Joey established The Adventure Group in Whistler to facilitate a growing demand for unique experiences in the outdoors. The Adventure Group offers a robust array of activities for individuals and couples, in addition to corporate and group retreats. Each season brings a full menu of unique activities that showcase the beauty of Whistler.

In his leisure time, Joey Houssian loves to travel, surf, mountain bike, snowboard, fish and practice yoga.

As a lifelong advocate of outdoor exploration and a deeply rooted belief that adventure and play promote overall happiness, Joey is also a proud sponsor, supporter and Board Member of Playground Builders, an international charitable organization that builds playgrounds and green spaces in conflict zones around the world. He also actively supports and sits on the Board of The Zero Ceiling Society, an organization that provides at-risk youth and adults with fun, even life-altering adventures.
